Papers

In 1883 two things opened for business:  the Brooklyn Bridge and Judd Paper.

For over twelve decades, Judd Paper Company has been in the paper business.

Initially, the company focused on writing papers and other printing grades, along with what was referred to as industrial papers.

Our knowledge and range of paper products has grown over the years, while the focus has shifted towards papers that provide a solution.

To give a few examples of paper grades:
  • Archival    preserves documentation for 100+ years, can be 100% cotton fiber
  • Bogus    low cost recycled stuffing and wrapping
  • Bond      a basic writing & photocopy grade
  • Indented    offers some cushioning protection
  • Kraft    good tensile strength used for wrapping & coating
  • Newsprint    low cost lightweight grade for wrapping and stuffing

Many of these grades are coated to offer additional properties

  • Butcher  has grease protection
  • Poly-Coated  polyethylene coating provides moisture barrier & heat sealing
  • Release  coated to prevent adhesives from sticking
  • Wax similar to polyethylene, but uses wax as the barrier

Judd can provide converting services for these and most other paper grades.  Papers are available in sheet or roll size to meet your needs.

A laminate combines different grades to achieve different characteristics.

Laminate examples can be found in our Amcraft product line.  K-1 envelopes feature a paper/tissue laminate that is then converted into miniature envelopes.
Our new E-S expandable envelope uses Softwrap tissue as a lining.  Softwrap provides excellent anti-abrasion & anti-tarnish properties for Sterling Silver and other critical surface items.

Another Laminate within the Amcraft line is our K-4 product. It combindes the properties of paper and fabric.
